Preston Docks

The Tug Hewitt which is berthed behind no 1 was named after Edgar Hewitt who was mayor of Preston in 1956/7. The Tug was built in Leith in 1951 and worked at Preston until; 1975 when she was sold to a Greek towage company. The docks closed on the 31st October 1981.
