Alston College

This was built c.1854 and demolished c.1892
It was situated between the Old Oak Inn and Spout House Farm on a site now occupied by the embankment of Alston No 2 reservoir.
The 1871 census listed 105 residents which included 88 students.
The college clock was presented to the Parish Church of St Lawrence.
