There is no known record of who built this house or when. In 1888 it was the home of David Irvin, it was later owned by the mill owning Smith family and was bought in 1930 by a George Liebert and his wife Audrey. In 1943 the house was taken over for the War effort. It was later to become a special school for handicapped children, which closed in 1995.
