The photograph shows the Railway level crossing with the station on the left and village shops on either side of the road.
The buildings nearest the camera (to the right) were originally part of Blackrod Farm. The buildings have also been used as a smithy, wheelwrights workshops and a finally a garage before they were demolished and turned into car showrooms.
