This Clock Mechanism was the mechanical mechanism attached to the clock around 1950 by Gents of Leicester. Prior to this, the clock had run from the eight-day wind-up mechanism fitted with the installation of the clock in 1879 by Sir W. H. Bailey and Co. Ltd. of Manchester.
